Looks as If the Dems Have Their First Victim

November 8, 2006 / by 5string

With Donald R leaving power now, what is next?
Not sure what to make of this, have not had a chance to talk to MA yet to get her input. Not that I need her input but she was in the war and knows/knew what was really going on.

So the Dems are in power for the most part both national and here locally, what does this mean? Only time will tell. I don't agree with the Dems core values, never really have that is why I am on the Rep side.

But I try to be open minded enough to see how the chips fall.
Can the Dems bring down gas prices? No, we all know that the government can A) do nothing about the prices or B)Don't want to (you might ask why they would not want to, have you ever look at your state's tax on gas per gallon??)

I am confident enough that I know it is not the end of the world that the Dems are in power but it does concern me. Look at the core values. The Dems like to spend more than save. Sure you comment about the cost of the war but then again it takes money to pay for a war no way around it. Plus the Reps are more less government than the Dems and that effects me everyday with my businesses.

I have studied politics and I do follow all races, but I am not so crazy about politics that ruins my life.

Here is the thing to remember no matter which side you are on, everything runs in cycles. Music is a great example, every 20 years what was hot comes back again. Look at classic rock and the 80's music. The 80's tunes just a few years ago were really hot in remixes etc. Fashion proves this fact as well, and so does politics.

I was a fan of Ronald Regan, though I was too young to really remember the impact he had at the time he was doing it, I can really appreciate it now. Yes he was an actor, yes he was a California Representative but he had it right. He knew what the USA needed and he had people around him to make it happen. No one has had that in our country since Lincoln. JFK didn't have it. Face facts JFK would not have been the President that he is portrayed in history had he not been shot. MA and I stumbled across the very spot he was shot while we were in Dallas. And it was just that a spot, a moment in time. Maybe if I were a bit older JFK would mean more to me but honestly it does not.

JFK holds the same spot in a way as Lincoln, but to me Lincoln means more. After all he was the start of whites and blacks coming together. We still have a LONG way to go, a very long way to go, which is really sad. I don't have any black friends now, I did in high school but just by a bit. Living here there were not many blacks (there are many more now) but there was one that was on my basketball team and we got along.
Also there was one in my broadcasting class at Wilkes and he taught me about rap and Mary J Bilge (is she still around?) and I taught him about country music. But I digress.

My real point being, I will wait and see what happens in Washington with the change of power. Will they want all troops out of the war right now? I hope not, it will be a real mess then. Will they set a timetable? Only time will tell. But I do hope this, I hope that one day in my lifetime there will be a real national candidate who can make honesty their first priority. But I don't that will ever happen, too much money involved.
But one never knows, one never knows.

But my real point is, let's all hope that one day our country can return to the good ole days. Gas prices lower and wages more in line with what we have to pay out for bills etc. Not sure I will ever see that day but one can hope, and without hope what do you have?

I would call Rumsfeld a micro manager that knew nothing about military tactics. As for JFK, thanks to him we didn't have a nuclear disaster. While the military and political hawks was doing everything to direct an air strike on Cuba, he negotiated a stop to tyhe crisis. Unknown once again to the U.S., there were 200 nuclear weapons that would have been unleashed againt the U.S. that didn't require permission from the Kremlin. It indeed would have been a different world indeed today. Thank you

Rumsfeld did much good as Secretary of Defense but he also made a lot of mistakes. It was time for him to leave.

i WOULD CALL HIM THE BEST IN THE ADMINISTRATION. THIS IS INSANE TO BLAME RADICAL ISLAM ON RUMMY. HELL EVERYONE THOUGHT THE MUSLIMS WOULD LOVE US TO SAVE THEM, BUT WE WERE ALL WRONG THEY DON'T WANT TO BE SAVED. IF I HAD MY WAY I WOULD PULL OUT AND THEN THEY WOULD KILL EACH OTHER OFF. PROBLEM SOLVED! RUMSFELD IS A SCAPEGOAT FOR AN IDIOT PRESIDENT. BUSH IS WAY TO LIBERAL FOR THE CONSERVATIVE BASE. TOO MUCH SPENDING. DIDN'T WANT TO SECURE THE BORDER. THE PROBLEM WITH THE ELECTION IS THE REPUBS WERE PISSED AND AMERICA DOESN'T KNOW WHAT THEY ARE DEALING WITH. WE STILL BELIVE IF WE ARE NICE TO TERRORIST THEY'LL BE NICE BACK. THE WHOLE DAMN COUNTRY IS INSANE!!!!!!!
